When we first bought the land in Pench, it barely resembled forest. Only two large trees stood on what was mostly degraded farmland. Colourless, dry, lifeless. That’s when the intention shifted from simply building a resort to restoring a landscape. We removed non-native species that were draining the water table, focused on water recharge, and planted trees that would slowly rebuild the ecosystem. Over time, nature began returning on its own. butterflies, barbet calls, bats, even Palash trees sprouting without our intervention.

Wherever the land was barren, we planted not for decoration but for revival. Indigenous shrubs weave through the undergrowth, turning hidden pockets of the property into miniature sanctuaries. We added bird bowls on branches so hornbills and sunbirds could come closer. Butterfly-friendly planting created movement and colour. Every decision was made so the forest doesn’t stop at the boundary. it flows through the resort.
